In 2023, the Provincial Budget Office (PBO) stood as one of the
most vital departments in the Provincial Government of Occidental Mindoro, steering the province
toward responsible fiscal management and strategic resource allocation. Entrusted with overseeing
provincial finances, the PBO diligently crafted and executed budgets that addressed the needs of
various sectors—from infrastructure and health to education and social welfare.

Through careful financial analysis, planning, and stakeholder collaboration, the office ensured
that every peso was maximized to support programs promoting economic growth and social development.

Approval of the 2024 Annual Budget

One of the key accomplishments of the PBO was the successful preparation and submission of the
2024 Local Expenditure Program (Annual Budget), amounting to
Php 2,272,498,798.00. This budget was approved by the
Sangguniang Panlalawigan under the leadership of
Vice Governor Diana Apigo-Tayag.

Supplemental Budgets Prepared

In addition to the annual budget, the PBO demonstrated flexibility and responsiveness by preparing and
submitting three (3) supplemental budgets, totaling
Php 515,543,619.07. These supplemental budgets addressed urgent needs,
unforeseen circumstances, and strategic opportunities requiring immediate financial action.

Support to Component Municipalities

The PBO also played a crucial role in strengthening financial governance across the province. It facilitated the technical review of:

• 27 Supplemental Budgets from municipalities
